We regularly show our shibas and have a lot of fun doing so. Dog shows often have a bad reputation and we would like to counteract this, because in our opinion they promote the bond with the dog (if it is done properly) and are the ultimate test of courage, so to speak, because to remain calm and relaxed among thousands of dogs and to let strangers touch you is certainly not a matter of course.
As exciting as the competition is, and as great as it is to receive a country’s championship title, we see shows primarily as a platform to exchange ideas with fellow breeders, to educate ourselves in breeding matters, to meet new people, to talk to people interested in the breed, and above all: to meet old friends again and to make new friends.
